Ohio Homestead Exemption

The Homestead Exemption is available to homeowners who are 65 years or older or are permanently & totally disabled under the age of 65. Under the new program every senior citizen or permanently and totally disabled homeowner will receive an exemption of $25,000 on the market value of their home.

Take Me Home Program Offered by Summit County, Ohio

A program entitled Take Me Home is offered through the cooperation of Summit County Sheriff Drew Alexander & Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh. It’s intent is to assist those with communicative difficulty to be reunited with their families or caregivers in instances of accidental separation. Stow and Munroe Falls, Ohio Seniors Free Outdoor Chore Service

In April, the Stow-Munroe Falls High School Student Council will provide a free chore service for senior adults in our area. This service is available to residents 60 years old or older who live in the Stow-Munroe Falls School District.

Working in groups of 3-4, student volunteers accompanied by an adult supervisor will do assorted outdoor chores for seniors. Common tasks might include cleaning flower beds and garages, moving patio furniture, and general tidying up. The program is limited to one hour of work at each home; seniors receiving assistance will be asked to provide any needed cleaning supplies.

Clean up dates are scheduled for Tuesday, April 12 and Thursday, April 14, 2011. Enrollment is limited and pre-registration is required. The registration deadline is April 7, 2011, or until all available time slots are filled.
